Looking for a friendly in-home companion for my 24-year-old son, who's on the autism spectrum (high-functioning) and learning to live independently. We're flexible on days and times but hope for about 3 days a week, 3-4 hours each (afternoons or evenings). He'd love help with meal planning, simple cooking, and light housekeeping as he learns to manage his own place. He also enjoys getting out into the community - going to movies, running errands, or just spending time together. The ideal person is patient, upbeat, experienced with individuals on the spectrum, and enjoys video games. Most importantly, the ideal candidate will be invested in getting to know Nick as a person and developing a relationship with him. Nick is funny, smart, and easy to talk to - he just needs a supportive guide and good company as he grows more independent.
