About who needs care: My mom has spinal stenosis and walks with a rollator. My mom has Alzheimer's Disease, diagnosed in July 2024 "moderate to severe." My mom has had a few falls this week and a couple falls in the past, therefore that is why I'm looking for someone when I'm at work to care for her as I fear she's becoming more and more unsafe at home by herself. My mom is very hard of hearing. She wears hearing aids though they don't seem to help her much. Activities wise, my mom loves to read. She also loves watching "Blue Bloods" daily. She sometimes does word search puzzles. My Mom is kind and likes (though less these days) to talk with others-- she was very social up until the last few years. I do think though she'd enjoy someone she can talk to when I'm at work. About the care needs: Someone Mom can talk to. Someone that can, for now, help with small tasks such as making her some meals, helping her to the bathroom, maybe helping her bathe a couple/few times per week, and assure her safety while I'm away at work. I don't believe the person caring for her would need any specialized skills right now, just someone that is patient (due to mom's forgetfulness with the dementia) and someone that's down to earth and someone kind. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
