About who needs care: Our mother might be entering Hospice. She has severe heart failure, Type 2 diabetes, early dementia, and very limited mobility. She needs helps getting in and out of bed, in and out of wheelchair, toileting, personal care - everything. Our father lives at home too. He also has heart failure and short term memory issues but is mobile. We would need to secure 24/7 help in order for our mom to be able to hospice at home like she wishes to. About the care needs: She can be cranky, doesn't like folks who are too loud/bubbly, but likes direct and kind competence. while being allowed her space when she wants it. someone who has worked with dementia patients before would be an asset. Someone who can help with very limited mobility. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
