About who needs care: stage 4 Parkinson's, kidney disease, Crohn's disease, he needs gait training and balance assist. He lives with my grandmother who's been taking care of him but she needs help. He hasn't been sleeping well, she says he's hallucinating but that I don't know if he was sleeping or actually hallucinating since it happened in the middle of the night. He has a foley, but in his state of confusion he cut it and ripped it out, they had to take him to the hospital to get it replaced. He's wearing diapers now since he doesn't have much of an appetite so he's been drinking Ensures and nothing is coming out solid. It takes him a very long time to get up from his chair- he has a raising recliner- but even with the chair it takes him a good 5- 10 minutes to get to the bathroom which is about 10-15 feet behind him. He shuffles a lot, uses either a walker, a cane or his wheelchair About the care needs: He's a very stubborn man so anyone who can tell him to shut up and do what they say would be a great fit. You can call me as a point of reference if he gets a little too crotchety, and I'll make sure he listens. Usually if he clicks well with someone there's no problems. I would prefer someone whos worked with Parkinson's patients before as thats the most pressing issue he has currently, but also occ health and regular nursing will be good as well Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
