About who needs care: I would need someone older, who speaks spanish and doesn't mind listening to stories of the past, or doing puzzles with 90-Year-old woman, with mild dementia -- I would need someone to watch her while I am out 2 or 3 times a week for about 3 to 4 hours -- to keep her company, make certain she doesn't get in trouble or falls. She usually sits to watch her tv shows or does her puzzles. I would need someone to help her get up from her chair or sofa. She goes to the bathroom by her self and she prepares her own food as I always have food prepared for her. If there is an emergency while I am out, I am never more than 20 minutes away. You would need to wear a mask around her as she is a cancer survivor and has heart problems. About the care needs: Personality should be friendly but respectful, no ask questions but listen. She will be caring for someone very religious and with mild dementia so agree with everything -- make the client happy. No expletives in the house. Person must be very patient, sometimes it may be very boring -- and must be willing to go out for a walk in the backyard , or help prepare a juice drink or water, or a soup or snacks. A plus would be that --- The client will be my mother, and she likes to clean -- so caregiver has to at least try and help (follow her so she doesn't fall). Services needed include: companionship.
