About who needs care: Mom is currently going through radiation. She is 94 years old. She's very weak, but a real spitfire. She is not giving up without a fight. She wakes at around 10:30. This is the worst part of the day. It's hard to get up most days. Rarely, she needs help getting off the toilet. Otherwise it's not a problem. She can walk, but needs an arm. When we get to doctors' appts, we get a wheelchair for her. Most of Alice's day is in a recliner. She nods off. Mom is very loved. We have a big family, but everyone has jobs, or we would take care of her ourselves. She needs help with medication and light meals. lt woud be great if this would include light housekeeping and/or small loads of wash. Dad (93) is struggling at home. Both are hard of hearing, which is a challenge. Mom has been told she has 3-4 months to live. If we could get help, it would give their days some added happiness. About the care needs: Mom responds best to younger women. I think she will feel energized just having someone there to listen to stories of her travels and family life. She does not need any kind of injections or special medication. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
