About who needs care: Easy going and kind 85yr old man. Has moderate dementia. No health concerns that need to be addressed. Patient is incontinent but could go to bathroom with walking assistance. He can walk about 50ft with caregiver close by. Needs help dressing, and bathing. Patient usually sleeps through the night and is diapered during the night. About the care needs: Ideal caregiver has experience working with the elderly and can provide references. She/he has to be kind, patient. Caregiver is not expected to stay awake during the night but should be available on call and attentive should patient be in need of assistance. No special skills are needed other than being strong enough to assist patient with mobility. Patient does not have any health issues that need to be addressed other than having dementia. Patient's ability to walk was impaired after a fall. He was in the hospital for two weeks and his legs atrophied. Biggest concern is that he is a fall risk as he forgets that he cannot walk large distances. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
