About who needs care: Mark is a family friend who we recently moved-in with us when his previous living situation became untenable. He has dementia, mostly memory and cognitive processing issues. My mom is his general caretaker, and takes care of his doctor's appointments, medications, food, errands, etc. She is not, however, able to provide support with bathing and dressing, and lately Mark has needed more help with that. Right now, Mark bathes himself, but it is becoming more and more difficult. About the care needs: Mark is generally very friendly, but with issues of bathing and showering, I think he fairly shy and sometimes becomes annoyed. He is very reasonable when things are explained to him, but his dementia and increasing needs had never really been addressed until recently, so he is having trouble adjusting sometimes. We would appreciate someone to help with bathing and dressing who is compassionate, patient, and comfortable working with old men. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
