Help My Wonderful Mother

About the job

Hello my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease over the summer among other health issues that caught us by surprise. The Alzheimer's disease seems to be very progressive and every day she is forgetting how to do things or where she puts things. My mom Janis is 76 very sharp she was working full time until last my when her health declined rapidly. She is keeping up with her laundry and keeps her place clean and she doesn't wander yet thank god. I live a hour away I work remotely from there often and I am there on weekends. To start I need someone who can take my mom to the store or the salon if she needs to get her nails done maybe a Dr appt if I can't get there. My mom has no appetite so I have been shopping at the Market Basket she likes just being able to microwave, so helping her with meals would be great. No heavy lifting necessary she is still mobile. I need another set of eyes and ears on my mom. She lives alone my dad is in hospice and is in a facility so I can imagine she is lonely. You will love my mom she is very cool and down to earth you will enjoy your time with her she is going to be super easy. You-Must have experience working with people with Alzheimer's/Dementia and have references. Must have own car and clean driving record, must speak english clearly my mom is starting to get hard of hearing and I think she will have trouble understanding someone with a thick accent, I prefer a woman who could be her companion, you must have a genuine heart and you live helping people., must be flexible I will be offering more days and hours as we go. Must be patient she is very forgetful you a kind heart and will keep teaching my mom the remote cell phone ect as she starts forgetting and you don't mind repeating yourself a lot. You are calm I want her anxiety levels low this has all been tough on everyone . I am not sure exactly what days and hours I need I think 2 days a week 3 hours a day to start and increase as the Alzheimer's progresses. If she has no appts the days can be flexible I think the schedule will get figured out once we see what her needs are because they change every day. parking available no pets
