About who needs care: My mother has early stages of dementia. She is able to feed herself & dress herself in normal circumstances. At this time, she has a fractured arm from a fall last month. She is diabetic as well. She does use a walker. She is not able to cook very much for safety. My stepdad is her primary caregiver but is now using a walker as well due to arthritis in his knees. They do have doctor's appts that they would need transportation to and from. More for my mother than my stepdad. They usually sleep in so early afternoon would be the best time for visits. They are able to fix easy meals such as toast and jelly with coffee, which is what they usually like for breakfast. They eat soup a lot for lunch. We would need someone that can prepare a simple dinner. About the care needs: Someone that is kind and has good communication skills. They would need help with mother's medications, sometimes. They usually handle this on their own. My mother loves to read. I would like someone that can engage with them in conversation and not spend time on their phones while they are there. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
