About who needs care: COPD Mobility Issues Ostomy GERDs Patient can take care of herself, change ostomy, get in/out of chair, prepare meals. Patient needs help with errands, like grocery shopping or going to appointments. Patient has bad days: nausea/vomiting from GERDs or incidents with Ostomy failing. Often, these leave her in a weakened condition where she may need assistance, e. g., (a) getting a receptacle to vomit in or (b) getting to the bathroom to clean herself and with related clean-ups, e. g. to carpets. On bad days, concerned about her staying alone for the night. About the care needs: Someone friendly, patient. Someone who will remind her / push her to do her PT, eat meals, not snack after 8 p.m. Someone who will encourage her to get out to see her friends or to come on errands. Someone who can drive; can help by putting the patient's walker in the car. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
