About who needs care: Some dementia. Lives in the basement of my daughter and her family's home. He drinks too much out of boredom. My daughter needs help to clean up his part of the house a little (he is pretty clean). He won't eat but with proper meal prep, we believe we can get him to eat more. I would like him to also go for walks with caregiver. He is a sweet man but is withering away and gets depressed and isolates. Needs to be pushed a bit to shower. So light housekeeping, shower prep but no shower. Possible shaving but more of an oversight thing. Help organize his life and create a routine he looks forward to. About the care needs: I would prefer a male caregiver but a woman would be fine also. I believe an assertive strong personality is needed. Would love the caregiver to play cards or something with him so he uses his mind more. He just sits and watches tv too much. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
