About who needs care: Has short term memory loss/some dementia. Lives independently but needs help with bathing and light housekeeping. Family wants to make sure she eats balanced meals; concerned she forgets/lack interest in eating, and gets enough protein, well balanced meals instead of quick, grab & go items. Social interaction and having a routine are important, too. About the care needs: Good fit would be someone who is kind and patient and likes to listen and talk. My mother likes to study her bible every morning with her coffee and a warm breakfast (eggs and toast). She crochets, enjoys music and interacting/socializing with visitors/care giver. No special skills needed except for assistance getting in and out of the bath tub. No recent surgeries. We do not need someone who will sit and watch tv with her. She does enjoy going to the cemetery every few weeks to replace flowers on my father's grave. Family member is responsible for transport to doctors' appointments. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
