About who needs care: I'm looking for someone to assist my father Gary with basic daily tasks, including light meal preparation, medication management, household help, and transfers from his bed/chair to the wheelchair/walker. He has an atypical parkisons diagnosis, resulting in limited mobility and difficulty projecting when speaking. The household help primarily consists of laundry, dishwasher loading & unloading. The most important duties are helping Gary with his transfers and safety when navigating the bathroom, as he is a fall risk. When he is able to walk, it's important to follow him with a wheelchair in case he can't continue. The ideal helper would encourage him to put on his physical therapy boots and enjoy some fresh air on the porch when weather permits. Preferably looking for people who can come on a given day of the week rather than one time visits. About the care needs: We are looking for caregivers who are a calm presence, patient, and kind, and willing to support my father's independence when he is having strong days. As he is a fall risk, someone who is comfortable with physical balance support would be ideal. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
