About who needs care: My mom has mild cognitive impairment and it affecting her ability to keep routines, problem solve, and keep the home safe and clean. She has a harder time with technology now. She is afraid of falling and needs someone to walk in the neighborhood with her and encourage her to use her walker. She needs someone to help her with cleaning her cpap and putting it back together and helping adjust the straps if they get too loose. She is also lonely and needs someone who can enjoy conversations, seeing and helping with her plants, and maybe reading or playing cards with her. She loves gardening and spending time on her deck. About the care needs: Someone who is a friendly and caring and can help mom with strageties for supporting her memory. Someone who can see what needs to be done and jump in to help. Someone who will keep me updated on my mom. She mostly thinks she needs help with laundry, cleaning the bathroom and keeping kitchen together. But she also needs help with organizing, keeping paperwork off the floor, technology, sticking to healthy routines, and getting out to walk. I anticipate that her care needs may increase with time so someone who can adjust to new needs. Someone who enjoys hearing family stories and has a love of gardening would be amazing.
