About who needs care: My father was living alone but had a bad fall, breaking ribs and other injuries. After 2 weeks in ICU and 1 week in rehab he is being discharged Dec. 1. We have Medicare paying for some in-home care, but want to fill in the blanks so that he has help bathing, dressing, making sure he's eating and taking medications. Not exactly sure what days we will need but hope to find that out by Friday. He is moving into Independent care in Clayton directly from rehab on the 1st so it would be wonderful to have someone there Monday evening for a couple of hours to get settled. About the care needs: My dad is old-school stubborn but he has a good heart and is a great father. He doesn't like anyone to tell him what to do. He's not mean about it, but I would say 'grumpy.' He hasn't accepted that he cannot live alone completely and doesn't want to lose his independence. Someone patient, kind, sense of humor would be a plus. The community he's moving into is very nice and people are extremely friendly, like family, you can tell. He no longer has a lot of hobbies, mostly watching tv and playing on ipad so I would love someone who will make him take short walks and learn to do basic tasks again. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
