I'm looking for companion care for my loved one in their 80s. Prefer someone with dementia experience and/or nursing/CNA background. My friend, for whom I'm POA, is in a far-from-great nursing home, in stage 4 of dementia. I'm too old/ill to visit her frequently and would like to someone to visit her once a week, pick up food from me at my home in N. A'ville that I prepare for her, feed her that food, and keep me updated as to her welfare. She's 86, has an impressive progressive history as an activist (anti-war, women's rights, mental health, and discrimination)--written up in Newsweek) and is often angry about its loss. She's lost most coherent language abilities. I need someone who can monitor the nursing home's treatment of her, keep a consistent schedule, and treat her gently.
