About who needs care: He is turning 86 soon, but is still very independent. He still drives and enjoys golfing, sailing, walking, etc. He is currently undergoing cancer treatments once/month in Nashville, TN for bladder cancer. His 3 daughters live 5+ hours away so simply cannot be there immediately if ever needed. We are looking for someone to stop by his house a couple times a week, maybe bring prepared healthy food he can easily warm. (He still cooks and goes to grocery store, but when cooking for one we just want 'eyes' on the fact that he has healthy food.) He is hard of hearing and doesn't like to wear his hearing aids. Not that 'heavy' work will always be needed, but we want someone who can stop by and if need be climb a ladder to change a light bulb or grab a box from a high shelf or carry something down/up from basement for him because his laundry is in basement. About the care needs: For awareness.. he will share his mind about politics from time to time. He is a retired electrician and still attends IBEW meetings sometimes. But due to his union loyalty, he is a strong democrat. So someone who can be ok with those comments. As of now, he doesn't need any specialized skill care, but rather someone who can gain his trust and make him feel confident that he is not losing his independence... just help. :) Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, and mobility assistance.
