About who needs care: 70's adult male, has advanced parkinsons disease. Currently walking with U-Step walker, but will soon be in a wheelchair. Has a hospital bed and handicap accessible home. Looking for caregiver to offer respite to his wife. Someone to help with bathing, toileting, transfers, and prescribed exercises from OT and PT, as well as social stimulation. About the care needs: Someone with experience in skilled caregiving. Parkinson's knowledge/understanding is a plus. Client loves motorcycles and old cars, so an interest in those items is a plus, but not a requirement. Primarily looking for someone able to creatively adapt to help when he freezes up from parkinsons or needs assistance remaining mobile. Services needed include: feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
