About who needs care: my husband has alzhiemers and he spends his day in the yard doing "yard work" which is not really work. He makes like small ditches in the yard with odd tools and this fall he's been picking up leaves by hand or sometimes he sweeps them. He considers this "work" and I encourage and praise him. He also eats several meals/day and when he's inside, he may nap while watching tv. He's wandered off in the past and now wears a police tracker, just incase. He won't bathe. This is an issue I hope someone can help with. Do you have men caretakers? About the care needs: I have had 2 women in the recent past. He doesn't require much care, just watching occasionally when outside. I prepare meal and snack. I thought a man may be able to encourage him to bathe. Hobbies are not an issue since he loves being outside "working". When he's inside and they're together, just to chit chat. He will answer a simple question, and understands what you say. He doesn't like to be told what to do, so a little cajoling would be helpful. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
