I'm looking for a companion caregiver for my 20-year-old son. He has Duchenne muscular dystrophy (his muscles are much weaker than normal), and uses a power wheelchair. I'd like to find someone who can take him out a couple times a week. Go to the mall, library, museum, park, zoo, movie theater, or even the occasional convention. Maybe even just spend time at home playing games or watching anime. I'd like to find someone who shares those interests. Due to his disability, the caregiver would need to be able to provide mobility support (transferring him into and out of his wheelchair, and possibly onto and off of the toilet. he is pretty small, around 4 feet tall and only weighs 85 pounds. We have a wheelchair accessible van that would be used. Preferences for a caregiver who is a non-smoker and comfortable with pets. Thanks!
