Caring Companion Needed For 76-Year-Old Dad

Seeking a compassionate, reliable companion for my 76-year-old father with Frontal Temporal Dementia (FTD). He lives with me in Worcester, is gentle and pleasant, and enjoys simple outings and calm company. I'm looking for help 1-2 days a week for 5-6 hours (flexible; can be split) so I can run errands and rest. Activities may include lunch or coffee, light shopping, walks or scenic drives, movies/TV, simple games, chatting, and offering light prompts (hydration, coat, etc.). No medical care needed-mainly companionship and supervision. He's in the moderate stage of FTD, generally cooperative, and benefits from structure and gentle redirection. Ideal candidate is kind, patient, and comfortable with light outings; dementia experience is helpful, but not required. Competitive pay; happy to discuss. My dad is usually up by 10 a.m. or so and after taking his medication, which I put out for him, he will sit in his recliner and watch some TV while he has his coffee. He often has a light breakfast as well, which I prepare for him. From there, he just watches TV unless I have him dress up to leave the house for some lunch or maybe a supermarket visit or other errand-run for me, etc. He enjoys his crossword puzzles and "Word Searches" as well as watching TV, typically law-enforcement, or other similar legal shows. He likes to play the harmonica too, and it was a big joke teller, too until the dementia started to advance further. No medical care is required - this is primarily companionship, supervision, and engagement. Ideal Candidate • Kind, patient, and reliable • Experience with dementia is a plus but not required • Comfortable with light outings • Someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with older adults There is a parking lot outside of our building, with plenty of parking during the weekdays. I have one very friendly and curious cat, who I rescued almost 4 years ago. His name is Archie and he will make frequent appearances throughout the day when he isn't napping in the closet in my bedroom. He is an indoor cat and I do my best to keep him away from the door and out of the hallway.
