About who needs care: Were seeking a reliable personal care assistant (PCA) to assist a 93-year-old grandmother 6 days/week. Currently, she is a wheelchair user with diabetes. In her younger days, she was a doctor and talented in sewing and embroidery. Now, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and watching dramas on television. There would be 2 shifts: a morning shift (9:30AM-1PM) and early evening shift (4-7PM) with some flexibility, for a total of 7. 5 hours/day. Duties include mobility support, transfers (bed, wheelchair, recliner, toilet), dressing, incontinence care, oral hygiene, showering, and meal assistance. Experience is a plus, but not necessary. Ideal candidates are dependable, patient, willing to learn, and have the physical ability to handle mobility support for a 95 pound elderly woman. Rates are currently $19. 50/hour, with the option to go to $20/hour with additional training. We are located in Acton. About the care needs: Experience is a plus, but not necessary.
