About the job
Patient: 74-year-old recent widow. Wheelchair user - needs no assistance getting around - only to and from places. Lives Independent. Responsibilities: Companion - someone for my dad to chat with, watch tv with, share a meal (on us) or play card games. Get him out of the house. Monitor activity: be a person who can call for assistance while he practices walking. Follow with mobility chair. Errands - in town - pick up groceries or Rx, etc. Light house keeping/projects: Quick sweep of the main living area, lunch dishes, take out trash if needed. Help sort contents of moving/storage boxes (photos ect). Schedule: Flexible. 6-8 hours/week split between at least two days. Preference for Tuesday and Friday, but can move as needed for both of us. Must be able to life 35 lbs and get small portable chair in and out of vehicle.
