About who needs care: Mobility with full time walker. Cannot walk for long before she has to sit. No clinical dementia. She wears hearing aids. She has macular degeneration and has trouble seeing, especially reading. She loves playing card games, baking cookies and talking/visiting with friends and family. Keeping up with family posts on Facebook... though she struggles to read. About the care needs: Ideal caregiver would be friendly, patient, agile, and communicative. Someone who likes to help with meal preparation, shopping, laundry and general assistance. Mom likes to sit and talk about her family and current events. She would like to have someone that can help her with organizing cabinets, closets and other busy projects around the house. Someone who can help her with words when she can't make out when reading the paper, iPhone or computer. Caregiver would need a valid drivers license and would have use of mom's car to take her to appts or shopping. A Caregiver that speaks good english. Mom struggles with hearing strong dialects. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, and mobility assistance.
