About who needs care: She has dementia, but she's usually pretty good during the day. She had a gastric bypass 30 years ago, which means she has trouble knowing when she needs to poop. Which means she regularly has accidents and makes a mess of the floors. She also needs help making something for breakfast and cleaning the house. She doesn't really have any hobbies beyond TV, but that has fallen by the wayside as she has forgotten how to use the remote. Ideally, someone would show up after she wakes up (around 7 or 8am) and make sure she's dressed, clean, and has breakfast. Then she needs someone to talk to for a couple hours before I wake up (12 to 2pm). We also need someone to help us clean the house, but I understand if that is a separate service, especially since we are hoarders and the house is in quite a state. About the care needs: Mom is generally very kind and understanding, but stubborn. Anyone with a good disposition would be fine. Someone with experience dealing with Alzheimer's would be ideal. Someone fluent in English is important as well. She often can't find the words she looking for and misunderstands things she doesn't hear right, so someone who can fill in those words or restate things so she understands would be great. Her only hobby is television and talking about the old days. Someone who doesn't mind watching the shows she likes would also be great. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
