About who needs care: My mother has mixed dementia and her symptoms have recently worsened. She has started having episodes of bowel & bladder incontenience & will not wear protective underwear and she gets it on the commode, etc. Mom does not like to bath or change clothes, She says it makes her cold. My mother is mobile and lives with her husband in his home. It is now difficult for mom to lift her leg to get over into the tub. She requires assistance bathing, changing clothes. Her husband makes sure she eats, I live 40 mins from her home and unable to assist with personal care twice a week. The Alzheimers has affected moms short term memory. She still has some long term memory and recognizes her family. She needs assistance with getting into the bayjtub and assistance bathing and dressing and assistance with going to the bathroom, keeping her clean while in her home. About the care needs: Mom is quiet, sweet, likes to be clean. I prefer someone with a background working with Dementia patients. Mom was a Sunday School teacher for many, many years. She would prefer a devout Christian, believer in Jesus Christ if possible. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
