About who needs care: My husband and I live in our home of 50-plus years. He has recently lost much of his vision and Im having a hard time keeping up with the house trying to clean up behind him as we go. He still cooks some (our deal was that I cooked for the first 50 yrs, so he gets the next 50),, but he makes such a mess that its almost not worth it, except morning coffee and toast followed by breakfast (simple). I am trying to cook a casserole, a quiche, a chicken, and a vegetable based soup every week to have food available for us to eat, but I cant do the cooking and clean up behind myself, too. I need someone to come for several hours and help me manage cooking all this food-for-a-week and then clean up the kitchen and sweep and mop the kitchen floor. Im not a perfectionist, but I know I cant leave food mess out because it draws bugs, which I cant abide. So far I can still do my shopping, so it would be ready to work on. I need another person to help me with heavy things, and I need cleanup help. About 3 hrs, I would guess. Sometimes maybe 4. About the care needs: Im old (83) and like other older people, but I have many, many younger friends. I love young people. Im a good cook (just no energy left), so if a younger person wanted to learn some good recipes and cooking techniques, I could teach them if they will help me get my cooking and cleanup done. I know a lot about nutrition, I like to eat real food, not prepared or processed food, and we eat both meat and veggies. And fruit. I think I could be as much help to someone young as they could be to me helping chop, prep food, etc and cleaning up afterward. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, and light housekeeping.
