About who needs care: He was recently hospitalized for have a series of mini strokes. He is an alcoholic and habitual smoker of cigarettes. He has Alzheimer's and dementia. He is very private but not mean/unruly. His wife/my mom passed 10/29/2017. He has no hobbies but is a former percussionist (back in the day). He likes to watch TV. He really has no structure to his day. My aunt currently cooks his meals for him to eat. About the care needs: I prefer a male because I don't think he would be comfortable with a women bathing him/changing depends. I think someone who truly cares about elderly people and "never met a stranger" vibes are important. My father has to feel comfortable to allow the caregiver to help, as well as, my aunt must trust that my father will be in good care (she's incredibly territorial of her baby brother). Someone who is also honest, trustworthy, detail oriented, and communicative with my sister and I. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
