I need a hands-on care provider for my mother in her 60s. She has ALS and is fully immobile, basically quadripilegic. We are looking to expand her care team and find evening assistance. The hours are a bit funky but I think the hours will grow overtime as her needs progress. This shift would entail helping her with movement - moving arms up and down, legs up and down, etc., with light stretching. Then assisting her with going to bed - changing into pajamas, brushing teeth, and night time care. From there she would need assistance with going to the bathroom which would include transfer assistance via a sit to stand and / or hoyer lift. From there another transfer to her bed via the same equipment would be needed. Last, it would be helping with positioning and comfort in bed. If you have experience with ALS that is a major plus.
