About who needs care: I am looking for a caregiver, or set of caregivers, for my 88-year-old mother. She's a sweetheart with a quick wit and no memory issues. I need a skilled caregiver who can commit two hours to her care every morning and every evening. Or, multiple caregivers -- one for the morning and one for the evening. Weekends are also needed. The caregiver needs to be skilled with, at least, an active CNA license. My mother has her usual medications, which are easily administered. She does not stand, walk or transfer, so you will need to be able to operate a Heuer lift or a transfer chair lift. She also wears a colostomy bag, the wafer portion gets changed twice a week, when you shower her, and the bag is changed every other day. On her dialysis days, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, she needs to be fed and dressed in order to catch the Lake County Connection shuttle at 9:00 a.m. It's, actually, not as hard as it might sound. Morning hours can be somewhat flexible on her non-dialysis days. Evening hours have minor flexibility. I did this for my mother for three years, but I can no longer dedicate the time/energy. About the care needs: A good sense of humor helps and work well with my mother. We are looking for, at least, a licensed CNA. No specific hobbies or interests needed -- just need an excellent caring caregiver. Services needed include: transportation, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
