About who needs care: Hello, My father has vascular dementia and is currently living on his own with his dog. He is resistant to help and quite stubborn as a result of his condition. He needs more help than he is willing to admit. We are hoping to have someone who feels more like a companion rather than and nurse. Some days are better than others. He needs help with medication organization, remembering appointments and possibly food prep and grocery shopping. He doesn't have many hobbies. He is interested in politics and likes to go on dates. He has severe undiagnosed anxiety as well as the feeling of loneliness. He does drive although he probably shouldn't be. My sister lives about 20 minutes from him and goes to all of his doctor's appointment with him. We are trying to take to load of of my sister and her husband. We would like to start out with 3 days a week for an hour or so but eventually increasing to full time care.
