About who needs care: My mother is confined to a wheelchair and is paralyzed from the waist down. She would need assistance getting out of bed, bathed, dressed and help getting food warmed/prepared. She can feed herself, likes doing crossword puzzles, tending to her plants and watching game shows. She's bright and funny. She would then need assistance getting changed and put to bed for the night. She currently has in a catheter for urine and wears a diaper, but I don't think they'll send her home with the catheter About the care needs: She works well with people who are patient, have a sense of humor and they don't cut corners. Believe me, she pays attention! She needs to know that you are going to do right by her and that she can trust you with her health and well-being. I need to feel safe leaving her in my home with a stranger. The ideal caregiver should be familiar with a wheelchair and Hoyer lift, though I don't have one in the house as of yet. Services needed include: transportation, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
