About who needs care: She is close to discharge from rehab. Very slow moving and uses rollator walker for ambulation. She would need supervision for safety when walking until she gets stronger after dc from rehab. She has spinal stenosis and suffers from chronic pain. She has also had some mental decline while in rehab. Looking for assist with meal prep, dressing and general companionship for safety while I'm at work or sleeping. She enjoys watching tv, music and history. She tends to sleep most of the day unless having pain. Has to sleep in recliner due to her spinal stenosis. Meals would be based on when she's hungry and she doesn't tend to follow a meal "schedule". About the care needs: Should be a female who doesn't have an accent as she can't understand accents and it confuses her. She mostly needs a sitter for safety, meal prep and possibly bathing assist once/wk. She tends to stay in her nightgown all day but may want to get dressed if someone is there to help her. I handle her medication so that wouldn't be needed. She has also had mental decline in rehab and not sure if this will be permanent. So should be someone experienced in handling persons with dementia. Not sure of how much time would actually be needed as that will depend on whether or not the mental issue resolves. Will also need someone to continue doing any prescribed exercises ordered by PT. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
