About who needs care: Hi, I'm a disabled woman that uses a power wheelchair and is a quadriplegic. I have cerebral palsy but that doesn't keep me from working as a professor and having a social life. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy visiting friends, shopping, trying new restaurants and going to concerts. My ideal caregiver would be someone who is on time, patient, respectful and learns the balancing act of stepping in and stepping back, A sense of humor helps too. I also need assistance with my duties as a professor. Although I've checked it, a college degree nor any formal background in education is necessary. Experience with reading, writing, and organization are a plus. Services needed include meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
