About who needs care: My husband, Dustin, has suffered 7 strokes that have now inhibited his ability to see, process some information, and work. He also recently had seizures which affected his vision and processing. He is working on trying to dress himself, but it takes a lot of time. He doesn't need help eating, but he does have difficulty in getting food on his plate and seeing what he is eating. He did just have hip replacement surgery and is trying to get balance and strength back from that. He can move around the house okay, but he is still a bit of a fall risk. I am going to see about having him shower in the evenings when I'm home, but he generally takes awhile to get up in the morning. The idea day: get up and moving, dressed, teeth brushed around 8 a.m. Get breakfast. Move around and do PT. Take a walk if he can. After lunch, rest. About the care needs: Dustin enjoys someone with a good sense of humor. He loves talking about music and philosophy. He still tries to think but takes time making sense of what he's trying to say. Someone patient is also ideal. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
