About who needs care: would need someone who presents as a "personal assistant" to him, as he will not accept care. Elderly father needs companion to come in at least twice a week to start to check on state of the house, if he needs groceries, help with basic technology (iphone, PC computer) someone to take him on walks. He loves history and sports, does not cook, and likely has pre-dementia or alzheimers, deaf in one ear. He wakes up very early for a morning jog but then as far as we can tell he just sits on his phone all day. We'd like him to get up and get out a bit, as well as get him a tv he can use and potentially make friends. We would also like someone to work with him on memory and cognition in a kind, non judgemental way to track his progress. About the care needs: Basic computer, technical skills would be great, someone humble and patient who won't get frustrated answering the same questions over and over. A history or sports lover would be great, but as long as you can listen and converse, all the better. Someone up to take walks and willing to play personal assistant while actually overlooking his care. Someone who knows when he's agitated to let him be, and come before he sundowns. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
