About who needs care: I am looking for a housekeeper/companion for my 81 yo mother in law. We believe she is in the early stages of a dementia condition but dont have a diagnosis yet. She is mobile and independent but beginning to struggle with daily tasks like grocery shopping, meal planning, cooking, light house work, and is alone at home all day as she is widowed. My husband and I live down the street and see her every evening but need someone to be with her for a few hours a day to help with other tasks and keep her company. About the care needs: My mother in law is very friendly and loves to just sit and chat, although she is struggling with communication somewhat now. She is capable of performing almost all of her ADLs and is continent of both urine and stool. She is very independent and resistant to having a caregiver so we are looking for someone who will assume the role of housekeeper and helper to her, but have a watchful eye and be able to keep us updated on her progress and condition. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
