We are an "assume positive intent" family looking for a positive, happy, smiling, warm person to care for, love, guide, and respond to our 16-month-old as much as we do. We are raising our son with empathy and understanding for the little growing person he is, approaching all aspects of caring for him with love, kindness and responsiveness first. Our toddler is active and curious! He loves playing with toys, his swing outside, playing outside, reading books, talking about animals and colors and shapes and the things we do during the day. Our baby needs help with the typical baby things, including diaper changes, napping, eating snacks and meals, staying hydrated. Equally important, he needs a calm, balanced, warm person to help him understand transitions (away from mom and dad, upstairs to nap, away from unsafe things etc.) and his big emotions. His physical, emotional and cognitive needs are equally important at this young age. We're looking for someone patient and warm. We can go over everything else like routines and baby's likes and dislikes pretty easily! Must have own transportation, and be comfortable with a quiet sweet old dog and free roam bunny who lives in one room upstairs. Baby is supported to sleep (not sleep trained) with snuggles, rocking chair, and song every nap and bedtime, so getting "nap trapped" occasionally is a possibility... we think it's the best though but we're biased. We have plenty of parking, but we live in a fairly rural area 16 minutes from downtown. We have a sweet old dog who is quiet and sleepy and a bunny who keeps to herself.
