We are a two professional couple with a very happy 16-month-old girl (currently in daycare) and are expecting our second (a boy) in May. I will be going back to work around 6 weeks postpartum and am looking for a nanny for the summer until he will be able to start in daycare in Mid-August. We are looking for someone that does not need to have a lot of infant experience but is willing to learn as we would like to include a 3 or so week transition period to learn all of the new baby's routine. As this will be during the summer we are happy to have a college student especially as there will be a fair amount of down time while the baby is sleeping that can be used as you see fit. Responsibilities will be the new baby and any baby or toddler related items (dishes/laundry). If the 16-month-old has a day off from daycare or is called out sick we would expect you to watch her as well, but pay would be increased commensurate with this. This is not expected to require driving or shuttling anyone in a car. My husband does work from home and is available if any emergencies arise, but generally leaves the nanny to her responsibilities regarding the baby. We also have two very friendly dogs and the nanny needs to be comfortable around dogs. Please let me know if you are interested or have any additional questions. We are somewhat Montessori interested but not at all strict regarding this with an interest in learning what our nanny wants to share or learn. Somewhat hard to say about a newborn which would be the primary focus but likely the trifecta -sleeping, eating and pooping. Two mixed breed dogs around 50lbs. Exceptionally friendly on one and friendly but somewhat more reserved on the other.
