All About the Job: Family Concierge is partnering with thoughtful and intentional co-parents in seeking a consistent, hands-on, empathetic, and caring Special Needs Nanny for a 4-year-old boy currently residing between the mother and father's homes in Greece and Hilton, respectively. The child is exceptionally bright and affectionate, however experiences significant separation anxiety, sensory sensitives, and struggles with transitions. The parents work closely with the child's behavioral health care team to provide the appropriate supports, and would include the nanny as part of the child's overall care plan. The family is optimistic they will find a patient, experienced professional who is skilled in managing dysregulation and meltdowns. The Nanny should also have experience establishing structured and predictable routines, evidence based de-escalation/co-regulation techniques, and using visual supports while honoring and guiding a truly unique, active, and thoughtful child. The Nanny's main role will encompass establishing and maintaining a solid, consistent morning and after school routine that meets the child's transitional challenges as he settles into his new Pre-K program. To maintain consistency and a positive environment, the family can only meet with candidates who can commit to the full desired schedule of Monday through Thursday, mornings and afternoons. However, both parents are open to offering additional house management, family assistant, or personal assistant duties for the right candidate to provide a more stable, predictable weekly schedule. What You'll Do Morning routine (8 - 11 a.m.): Calm, predictable get-ready routine, breakfast, hygiene, pack-up Low-demand transition strategies for bus handoff (visual schedule, first-then, countdowns) Coordinate with parents on any morning updates or behavior plans Provide very light pet care as needed for a friendly Goldendoodle Afternoon routine (2 - 5 p.m.): Be present at bus drop-off and provide after-school decompression/transition consistent with the child's needs Prepare and serve after-school lunch Engage in outdoor/active play and "heavy work" aligned with OT-style sensory strategies. The child particularly enjoys outdoor play, farming, lawn mowing, raking leaves, and shoveling snow. Support flexible, choice-based transitions, avoid power struggles, reinforce regulation skills Track brief notes on antecedents/triggers, successful strategies, and wins for parent/school team Ensure safety of child and others during escalations using non-restraint de-escalation methods Provide very light pet care as needed for a friendly Goldendoodle Team collaboration: Align consistently with both parents' home routines and the school/therapy team Maintain concise daily communication (morning and afternoon handoffs, simple logs) Participate in periodic check-ins to refine strategies and routines Negotiable Additional Responsibilities: Light family-assistant tasks during school hours (simple tidying, quick errands) Additional coverage on school closures, breaks, and summers Who and What We're Looking For: At least 3 years of experience supporting neurodivergent children and/or kids with anxiety and challenging behaviors.
