A warm, loving, down-to-earth Brooklyn family of four is seeking a seasoned, full-time Nanny to join their team starting early to mid-December. The family is replacing their long-term nanny of four years who is retiring. The position focuses primarily on the care of the younger child, as the older child has a dedicated nanny. However, candidates should be comfortable caring for both children when needed. The role is based in Brooklyn with part of the summers spent in the Hudson Valley. The role also requires domestic and international travel throughout the year. The position is live-out while in Brooklyn, with live-in accommodations provided during travel and while upstate. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with flexibility. The family is open to the possibility of a couple of shorter days each week, if preferred by the nanny. Responsibilities include creating developmentally informed, engaging days, preparing nutritious meals and snacks for the children with strict attention to allergies, supporting sleep and meal routines, children's laundry and the upkeep and organizing of child-related areas such as children's bedrooms, wardrobes, and play spaces, organizing the child's social life by identifying and taking to classes and activities, arranging and attending play dates, and networking with other nannies, maintaining consistency at home and during travel, clear, proactive communication and close teamwork with the parents, house manager, and co-nanny, and family-assistant support as needed such as errands, children's scheduling, ordering supplies, and packing and unpacking for travel. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of ten years of professional infant and toddler experience and a warm, intelligent, child-centered approach. The family values a calm, emotionally literate presence, someone who can meet children at their level, encourage curiosity, and reflect on feelings, paired with a down-to-earth, good-humored, and collaborative style. The role requires adaptability, discretion, and the ability to roll with the punches, slipping into established rhythms with ease. Driving is preferred, particularly upstate, but not required. A valid passport and current CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to renew promptly, are expected. The family offers a rate of $35 to $40 per hour, with appropriate overtime, paid time off and holidays, and comfortable accommodations when living in during travel and summer periods upstate. The family is also open to providing a health insurance stipend. This is a kind, grounded household that values its caregivers, and they hope to welcome someone who will be part of the family for the long term.
