Start: ASAP Age(s) of Child(ren): 4 & 6 years old Schedule: Monday - Friday 1:30pm - 6pm Compensation: $30-$35 Description: A warm, structured Briarcliff family is seeking a long-term nanny to support their two children (ages 4 and 6) during weekday afternoons. The home environment emphasizes emotional steadiness, gentle routines, and reliable, engaged care. Their Goldendoodle adds a fun, energetic presence, and the nanny will occasionally help with simple pet tasks. The family is deeply committed to finding someone who can remain with them for years, growing with their children and providing consistent, stable support. The Role (Day-to-Day Care) The nanny will provide nurturing, attentive after-school care Monday through Friday from 1:30pm to 6:00pm. Each afternoon begins with school pickup using the family-provided vehicle, followed by preparing simple snacks and supporting calm, smooth transitions as the children settle in from their day. The nanny will engage both children in developmentally appropriate play, quiet activities, or structured routines that suit their individual needs. Part of the daily rhythm includes overseeing the younger child's bath time and helping the older child unwind in a grounded, supportive way. Throughout the shift, the nanny is expected to maintain a calm, connected atmosphere that reinforces the home's sense of stability. During the summer months, when the children are in camp, the role may incorporate light family-assistant tasks to help keep the household organized. Additionally, when time permits, the nanny may let the family's dog out into the yard or take him for a brief walk. Collaboration & Communication The family values open communication, reliability, and a calm presence. They prefer a nanny who can independently manage the afternoon flow while partnering with parents in a respectful, professional manner. Comfort working in a household where a parent may be home at times is important.
