With both parents' careers becoming increasingly demanding (Dad traveling frequently and Mom working more in the office), the family is looking for a reliable, energetic caregiver who can step in as a consistent, trusted partner in their home. About the Children 9.5-year-old daughter: A mature, theater-loving child who dreams of growing up but still enjoys imaginative play and being silly. She adores her friends, family, and puppies. 8-year-old daughter: A smart, funny, and observant girl with food allergies. She loves hockey, dance, and staying active. The girls thrive with a caregiver who is playful, engaging, and great at encouraging creativity and movement. Minimum: 20 hours per week Typical: 20-25 hours per week Flexible: The family can accommodate up to 30 hours for the right fit Occasional later evenings: Until 8-10 PM, about 3 times per month (often when Dad is traveling or parents have events) Overnights: Ideal but not required, possible once trust is established School drop-offs after overnights: Children are dropped off between 7:30-7:45 AM The family is also open to increasing hours during school breaks or on days when the girls are out of school. Primary Responsibilities School pickup and driving to after-school activities (e.g., basketball, dance, hockey) Supporting homework and routine organization Encouraging active, imaginative, and screen-limited play Helping with meal prep, light household management, and occasional errands Managing sibling disagreements calmly and guiding positive interactions Ensuring safety related to food allergies Occasional overnights when needed Must be dog-friendly (family has a Lab/Beagle mix) and comfortable taking the dog for walks A clean driving record is required, and candidates must have their own reliable vehicle. What the Family Is Looking For: Energetic, playful, and creative Responsible and organized Patient yet confident in setting boundaries Positive, warm, and proactive Comfortable managing two busy children with different personalities Able to communicate clearly with parents Flexible with occasional later hours or schedule adjustments The family tends to connect well with energetic candidates and those who feel like fun, active mentors. While a degree is not required, the ability to support homework is appreciated. Experience working with children, whether as a nanny, teacher, camp counselor, or in another childcare setting, is a must. About the Family This family is active, affectionate, and full of life. They enjoy laughing, dancing, good music, good food, and planning outings, from small adventures to bigger trips when they can. They value communication, emotional awareness, and teaching their children to express themselves openly and confidently. Their home is warm, lively, and a place where curiosity and kindness are encouraged every day.
