Special Needs Teen Needs Supervision

About the job

We are looking for a fun, outgoing, adventurous and person to spend the summer with our intellectually disabled teenaged son. He is a happy, social kid who loves building things, hiking, kayaking, fishing, biking, swimming etc. We live on Smith Island, so we would need someone willing to spend their summer on the island. We will provide private housing, and everything you will need to have an amazing summer! We are just looking for someone to supervise and be a "buddy". He can shower, dress, feed himself etc. He just needs some help with meals, and someone to keep him safe on island adventures. He has a speech disorder, but he enjoys conversation, and his comprehension is good. Someone studying, or with experience in special education, psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy or a related field would be a prime candidate.
