Our 3-year-old requires more hands-on and direct supervision, and we are actively working with him on listening and following instructions. Our 8-year-old is more independent and competent, although she needs guidance and support with emotional regulation/overwhelm and interacting positively with her brother. They both love being outside and our backyard is a great place to play. They also both love books and reading, our daughter loves to read independently and it's a great regulating activity for her. Our 3-year-old loves to be read to as well. We are still figuring out what summer days will look like schedule wise, but sticking to a routine helps the kids a lot.
