Start: July 2026 Age(s) of Child(ren): Newborn July 2026 Schedule: 3-4 days per week (can do more hours) Compensation: $35-$40+ Description: About the Family This New Canaan couple is preparing to welcome their first child in July 2026 and is excited to find an experienced Newborn Care Specialist who can provide expert overnight support. They're looking for a kind, dependable professional who can make this transition into parenthood feel smooth and supported. The Role (Day-to-Day Care) The NCS will provide overnight newborn care-feeding, changing, swaddling, soothing, and establishing healthy sleep and feeding routines. The role also involves tracking baby's daily habits, maintaining a clean and safe sleep environment, and supporting the parents as they learn their baby's cues and rhythms. Collaboration & Communication The family values a partnership approach-someone who communicates openly and kindly, keeps them informed about the baby's progress, and works in collaboration rather than taking over. The ideal candidate will understand how to balance professionalism with warmth, providing gentle guidance to new parents while respecting their preferences and parenting goals. Travel Not expected at this time. The Ideal Nanny A nurturing, experienced newborn care specialist who is: Calm, kind, and reassuring Skilled at working with first-time parents Knowledgeable about newborn development, sleep shaping, and feeding routines Professional yet personable, creating a comfortable and trusting atmosphere Flexible and collaborative Requirements Minimum 5+ years of newborn experience (NCS certification strongly preferred) Demonstrated experience supporting first-time parents Up-to-date CPR and First Aid certification Excellent communication skills Professional references Reliable transportation to and from the family's New Canaan home Schedule, Pay & Benefits Schedule: 3-4 nights per week (flexible to increase) Start Date: July 2026 Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience Payroll: Directly through family (W2 or 1099 TBD) Duration: Typical newborn care engagement, approximately 3-4 months (may extend depending on family's needs) How to Apply Qualified candidates may apply via the Modern Maison candidate portal.
