Location: Palo Alto, CA Hours: 35-40 hours per week guaranteed Compensation: $35-$40/hour, depending on experience About Our Family: We are a warm, neuroaffirming family seeking a dedicated, positive household assistant and childcare provider. We have two wonderful children: a sweet, nonspeaking, autistic 9-year-old who is mobile with no behavioral issues, and a lively, neurotypical 6-year-old. Role and Responsibilities: Provide attentive, neuroaffirming care for both children, with a strong focus on skill-building activities, particularly for our 9-year-old (adaptive, communication, and fine motor skills). Collaborate positively with parents and existing providers, actively participating in learning opportunities to support our older child's development. Drive children to and from school and occasionally to appointments (must have a clean driving record). Perform light household chores when childcare responsibilities permit (e. g., tidying up, children's laundry, meal prep support). Qualifications: Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and follow developmental strategies provided by parents and specialists. Reliable, punctual, and organized with excellent communication skills. Clean driving record and safe, responsible driving habits. Comfortable working with respite arrangements through San Andreas Regional Center (SARC). About 20 hours per week will be partially covered through respite funding (typically $10-$20/hour), with the family covering the additional amount to reach the full hourly rate. Experience or interest in neuroaffirming care, autism, and skill development for special-needs children is a plus but not a must have. Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is warm, energetic, patient, and genuinely enthusiastic about supporting children's development. You are committed to learning and implementing supportive, skill-building strategies in collaboration with parents and care providers. Flexibility, positivity, and a willingness to integrate seamlessly into our family environment are key. To Apply: Please reach out with your resume (if available) and a brief note about your experience and interest in the role. We hope to find someone who can become a long time partner in our children's growth, and look forward to hearing from you!
