Part Time After-school And Weekend Caretaker

Seeking a part-time friend, mentor, driver, life-skills coach for a 10-year-old boy with special needs. We're looking for someone to pick up our son from school and take him to after school activities a few times a week and orchestrate activities on weekends. Our son is friendly and outgoing but is also still leaning how to interact with others. Much of the work will be setting examples of appropriate, "big kid" behavior. Applicants should have patience, empathy, compassion and a sense of humor. Since all special needs kids are different, experience with Autism is not necessary but you must be willing to learn the specific needs of this child, which will take time. Firm boundaries and a willingness to say no with a calm smile will be essential. We can work around your schedule, but reliability and consistency is essential.
