I have been involved in music and music production for over 15 years. My musical influences include Oscar Peterson and Robert Glasper and I also enjoy all types of genres. My teaching style can best be described as focused, tailored and in-depth. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that nothing cannot be learned or understood if taught correctly. In my lessons, you can expect to learn enough music theory together with closely-guarded tricks that will allow you to seamlessly play at a very higher level. You can also expect to learn how to play-by-ear or read music scripts easily. I like to tell my students that I can help them drastically improve within weeks but all I ask for is their attention and willingness. My favorite thing about teaching is the opportunity of taking an average student and watch them transform into an advanced student. My favorite performance was in London where I was a musical director for a choir of 60 and performed at an iconic hall in Central London to an audience of over 2,000. My students love that I am able to squeeze my 15 years of musical knowledge into a simplified and succinct form that aids easy understanding, assimilation and application. I primarily teach jazz/gospel/contemporary piano, but I can also teach all styles of piano playing. My approach as a teacher is to ascertain the level of my student, and make clear his or her goals and tailor my teaching style to that particular student. In other words, my teaching style is holistic and student-centered! Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon! Formal Education: BSc Biomedical and Health Science Medicine Performing Experience: Over 3 years of public performance at great halls around London Experience Teaching: Over 5 years teaching experience in both Music and Science. -Education- Degree: BSc and MD School: King's College and SMU Dates: 2005-09 -Reviews- Name: Irene T Date: 0000-00-00 00:00:00 Title: Irene T Body: I had difficulties playing jazz piano and improvisation. It was always tricky to find which scales to play to match which chord. Just after 3/4 weeks, he was able to teach me tricks and some scales that made it easy for me to play and improvise freely. He's a genius and really worth it. I 100% recommend him!

Nathan's Music Lessons (Orchestral)
by Taylor Robinson Music
Orlando, FL
Years of Experience: 3 Location Options: In Studio, In Home, In Webcam Travel Radius: 20 Genres: Blues, Jazz, Classical Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Orchestral Lessons Overview: I'm a relaxed guy that knows when to get down to business and when business should be fun. I try and create lasting bonds with the people I meet and hope to improve the lives of others along the way. I aspire to be an architectural engineer, but I also plan to always have the saxophone as a hobby. Formal Education: I will be a senior cone August in the international baccalaureate magnet program at university Highschool and I have a gpa of 5.1 and class rank 20 of 700. I've maintained all As all my life and know how important school is. Private Education: I've taken saxophone lessons on the record for 3 years and off the record with a good friend Patrick Manser (the best alto player in the state) for 3 more. I've never needed tutoring in my subjects but I have tutored many times over. Performing Experience: I've been in a band program for 6 years now and joined marching band the last 3 of those. I've been performing for as long as I can remember and I started jazz my second year and have been rocking solos ever since. I also won a speech contest in 4th grade but at this point you should know that I don't back down from a stage. Experience Teaching: I've taught academics for 6 years to my peers in private tutoring sessions and have also been teaching music to beginners for 4 years but recently started working for the classical rock school of music. These lessons are on Thursdays so there should be very little schedule conflicts. For all of Highschool I've been teaching sax to my peers along with the maths and sciences (my strong suits) and hope to help teach even more students. -Reviews- Name: Delia Santana Date: 2017-07-10 14:08:42 Title: Reference for Nathan R. Body: Nathan is the perfect candidate for a teaching position. Above his knowledge and skills, Nathan demonstrated patience and kindness when teaching my nephew Manny. Name: Oswald Thomas Date: 2017-07-10 19:36:10 Title: Teacher of Mathematics Body: It is with great honor and pleasure that I am writing this letter on behalf of Nathan. I have known Nathan for the past two years, and I’m privileged to have been his teacher of mathematics for those two years. I have observed during this time a very unique young man with excellent manners, good academic ability, and strong leadership skills. Nathan is only a junior who has been able to become an outstanding figure here at University High School. He strove to earn the respect of both the faculty and the students by portraying a positive attitude and establishing himself as an outstanding role model. He has risen to become a strong leader for his peers and has achieved academically as well. As a student in my class, Nathan is always taking on challenging assignments, even when he doesn’t receive any credit for these assignments. He usually can be found reading, studying, or helping his fellow students, when he is not too busy doing tedious algebraic calculations. It is with this attitude and through his perseverance that he has attained such a high level of success. In his academics he strives to gain the respect of his teachers and put the best effort possible into his work. Many students have failed to reach their inner potential while Nathan has soared to establish himself among the best that UHS has to offer. This type of maturity and dedication is an attribute to Nathan’s ranking as one of the top students in our International Baccalaureate Program. Nathan has also participated in many academic, civic, athletic, and social groups within our school and the community. It is through his membership in these groups and his role as a leader that he helped to shape the scholastic climate for University High School. Nathan has completed many community service hours through various community service projects and service learning as part of IB and graduation requirements. While doing these projects he executed his responsibilities in a very mature and professional manner. Please accept my recommendation for Nathan to work in your establishment; I believe that he will be an asset to any institution, organization, firm, or business that gives him the opportunity to demonstrate the qualities alluded to above. Nathan is a gentleman in the making; I am honored to be his teacher!!

by Taylor Robinson Music
Orlando, FL
Years of Experience: 3 Location Options: In Studio, In Home, In Webcam Travel Radius: 11 Genres: Blues, Jazz, Classical, Acoustic, RB, Gospel Age Groups: Children, Young Adult, Adult Instruments Taught: Vocal Lessons,Song Writing Lessons Overview: Hi Music Fam! My name is Imani, I am a singer, song writer, and an actress from Orlando, FL. I have been a student of music for about 20 years. My musical inspirations come from everything around us. I choose to listen to all types of music to gather a concept of creativity, while also soaking up all the love nature has to offer. My preference is to incorporate everything that we are on our journey into our music and creative contributions...this also assists with my love of fashion!! :D My teaching style is best described as creative, cooperative and challenging. I like this style because I choose to communicate with my students as though we are simply holding conversation. I want the students to continuously use critical thinking because it is imperative for them to work the required problem or exercise out on their own, while cooperatively communicating the lesson the educator. I enjoy challenging my students to teach me the lesson, because it enables them to see the material and concepts from many vantage points, and increases their level of optimism. In my lessons, you can expect to learn good communications skills, stage presence, creative problem solving... and the rest you'll just have to experience! I like to tell my students "the possibilities are endless, it's all up to you." If I had a favorite thing about teaching, it would be simply enjoying the company of another person and learning from them as they learn from me. A performance I truly enjoyed is one of my family's recurring" Family Holiday Concert on the Lake." My family and I host a free community concert every year in an effort to build and promote the creativity in our young student artists and musicians. My students love that I am funny and easy to talk to, they also find my advice to be very beneficial in their everyday lives. I primarily teach music, but I can also teach English, Science basic biology because it's so fun, basic* Video Production, and holistic health. My approach as a teacher is to expose my students to as much as possible. In this exposure process, they will learn that everything is connected to everything, from the foods we eat to the words we choose to speak.
